Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series is one of the favorite editions amongst whisky geeks and has been nicknamed the ‘Ghost Series’. Recently in San Yan, China, Johnnie Walker released its second edition, Ghost and Rare series - Port Ellen.

The ‘Blue Barrier’
A joint tasting undertaken by 7 Keepers of the Quaich featured Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series - Port Ellen limited edition. The Keepers also witnessed Johnnie Walker's place in leading the industry for 199 years, boasting around 216 million bottles of consumer contact worldwide each year (18 million cases). The core of this limited edition derives from the highly sought-after Islay single malt, Port Ellen, following the release of Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series - Brora last year.

During the launch event, guests thoroughly enjoyed the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare series - Port Ellen to observe the art of blended whisky and the capability of the team creating them. In this global competition, whisky lovers have seen rare and complex flavors rise to yet another peak, highlighting the innovation through fine whisky.

Scotch geek’s beloved distilleries come on stage
At the heart of Blue Label Ghost and Rare - Port Ellen lies the highly sought-after Islay single malt, Port Ellen - a ‘ghost’ distillery that shut its doors in 1983. It is the second edition in a series of special releases created by Dr. Jim Beveridge and his team of blenders, using eight handpicked whiskies from Port Ellen and two other long-dormant distilleries and five equally rare single malt expressions, such as ‘sherryish’, preferred by Scotch geeks, and embodied in Blair Athol.
