Sharing amongst whisky masters

A bold initiation undertaken by an anonymous independent Asian collector and Dr. Craig Wilson, Diageo single cask master, a span of 29 months was spent exploring and selecting rare liquids from warehouses in 11 distilleries - all distilled from 1988 to 1997 to form a rare and sought-after collection. The release will encompass 11 remarkable limited editions, originating from treasure hidden throughout boutique distilleries’ warehouses across Speyside and Highlands, Scotland – all of which are bottled as natural cask strength whiskies.

Mrs. Vivi Shen and Mr. Sam Lu were invited by the project initiator (Asian independent collector) to pioneer in this challenging project and witness the birth of the first ever Flora & Fauna Reserve Cask Private Collection.

A 29-Month Challenge

Dr. Craig Wilson
Single Cask Master

At the geek feast, Dr. Craig Wilson detailed his expertise with 13 fellow master blenders on the processes and methods that transpired during the 29-month cask selection for the Flora & Fauna Reserve Cask Private Collection.

"This project was a priceless experience as a monumental landmark in my professional career history.

The selection of high-quality single casks from 11 locations was challenging to say the least – but fascinating as all the rare liquids survived from the 80s and 90s. These high quality single casks not only reflect original distillery character, but also highlight the unique and charismatic style of oak barrels. This is the principle adhered to during the process of hand selection.

After examining warehouses inventory records, we carefully sampled rare treasures distilled from 1988 to 1997, with dozens of repetitious comparisons and maturation monitoring to ensure that the casks reached peak bottling periods. I am abundantly pleased to witness the rare 11 single cask single malts with Chinese collectors who embrace values of distillery characteristics."

For within these four geeks' gatherting events , Dr. Craig Wilson adn Mr. Sam Lu led the tasting and explained the connoisseur’s value of appreciating Blair Athol 1993 (26 Yo) - "the Maybach among sherry whiskies".

"Through the eyes of high-ranking whisky geeks, Blair Athol was coined the “the Maybach among sherry whiskies". Differentiated from the “Rolls-Royce” designation typical of subtle styles, Blair Athol possesses a more liberating vigor with acute notes known for provoking a superior satisfaction. This makes for an avenue begging to be explored by geeks with Sherry preferences looking to explore new ambitions.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label 【Ghost and Rare series 】 Trilogy: Brora, Port Ellen, Glenury Royal are some results in the utilization of Blair Athol - the "Maybach" of Sherry noted single malt whisky. It is an interpretation of its big and boisterous contribution to the flavor framework of Ghost and Rare series. Such Blair Athol (Sherry Noted Whisky) only reflects value through this rare series.
