Three GHOST & RARE Distillery Treasures Reappear in China

Johnnie Walker Blue Label is an unrivalled masterpiece in the art of whisky blending over nearly 200 years – an exquisite combination of Scotland's rarest and most exceptional whiskies. Only one in ten thousand casks contain such elusive quality, character, and flavor capable of delivering the remarkable signature taste. Each bottle yields handpicked whiskies from across four regions in Scotland that when blended, result in nothing less than extraordinary. It remains worth mentioning that blending ART is the benchmark with which all other blended whiskies are measured against.

Recently, the world's first "Ghost & Rare Series" limited edition set made its first public appearance at the legendary British castle located atop Mount Mogan – "Naked Castle"  to VIP guests in China.

VIP guests present at the launch to the century-old legendary castle blissfully witnessed the release and reappearing of three "Ghost" distilleries treasures, including Brora, Port Ellen and Glenury Royal.

The legendary "Naked Castle" landmark of Mount Mogan, was erected in 1910 by Scottish missionary Dr. Main. The British castle has witnessed a legacy of the Scotchman in China over the last century.

Royal Glory marks the extraordinary finale of the Ghost and Rare series.

Glenury Royal is the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare series finale, following Brora released in 2017 and Port Ellen in 2018. Glenury Royal is the super star of the "Ghost & Rare Series", and a blessing from the Royal Family makes an already distinguished brand, even more extraordinary.

This limited edition is offered by Johnnie Walker, a brand with a 199-year history. In 1934, the brand was granted a Royal Warrant by King George V, allowing it to supply whisky to the royal household that still remains valid to this day.

The core liquid components of the Ghost and Rare series were hand selected from Glenury Royal stock by Dr. Jim Beveridge, who was presented with the OBE medal (The Order of the British Empire) by her majesty.

The Glenury Royal distillery was founded in 1825 by Robert Barclay, a close friend of King William IV, and was recognized by the Crown as a Royal Distillery. It leaves behind a rare & old liquids that has become a favorite of whisky collectors.

Rare Liquid Treasure from Eight Distilleries

The third in a series of special editions - Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost and Rare Glenury Royal is crafted by blending Sought-after “Ghost” whiskies from 8 distilleries, including:

Rare Single Malt Whiskies

Glenury Royal(Ghost Distillery

Glen Elgin

Glenlossie

Glenkinchie

Inchgower

Pittyvaich (Ghost Distillery

Rare Grain Whiskies

Dr. Jim Beveridge’s orchestration of Glenury Royal is an extremely intellectual piece. This limited edition showcases the essence of Johnnie Walker’s four paramount production areas, from the core to the base of the blend - perfectly capturing the essence of the word "Rare".

In making this whisky, Dr. Jim Beveridge hand-selected two exceptionally rare whiskies from the “Ghost” distilleries of Cambus and Pittyvaich perfectly balancing their creamy toffee and butterscotch notes with the sumptuous orchard fruits, sweet apple and delicate apricot notes of Glenury Royal. Five other rare whiskies from Glen Elgin, Inchgower, Glenlossie, Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie bring waves of vanilla, heather honey and dried fruits that weave through nutty layers to create an exploration of the inimitable Glenury Royal.
